Sick at Franklin

As if the Franklin football team didn't have enough to worry about after its 28-27 loss to Burlington last week, the Sabers have found out that at least two players have been stricken with what is called a staph infection.
Franklin athletic director Bob Nolting could not mention the names of the players infected, but he said one student was in the hospital on Wednesday and another was identified in time and is currently in class.
"If you take the appropriate precautions, it's not of that much concern," Nolting said. "As long as you take antibiotics, it takes care of the problem. When you don't recognize it, that's when it becomes more serious."
Franklin (3-2) visits South Milwaukee (3-2) on Friday, and Nolting said every player could be suited up for the game. As of Wednesday afternoon, the only one in doubt is the player in the hospital....
